We are safely at home sitting in our family room and it is quiet.

The kids are in the basement watching a movie.

We have been to Indiana for Christmas. We went home on Sunday the 21st and celebrated Christmas with the Fedeles and then we celebrated Christmas with the Norths on Christmas Day.

It was a good week at home. We had a great time visiting with our family and friends but the times seems to run together and we can never remember what day it is.

My mom was involved in a automobile accident on December 18th. She has really been through a lot. She looks wonderful and I know that she pushed herself to "feel" better when we were around. She is pretty bruised and swollen in areas that are concealed by clothes so that is good. She such a blessing in our life, I just thank God that she is safe and sound. We all love mom so very much! My dad is also an amazing man,(we love you too dad}!. He has done a wonderful job taking care of her. Please keep them in your prayers!!

We returned home to KY on Saturday early evening. We walked through the door and the kids ran into the house and starting opening up the presents that were left at home by Santa! I wish that we would have taken a picture of our Yukon on the way home....you could not have put another item anywhere in our vehicle. Crazy!!

Well, Christmas is now gone and we are anticipating a the new year. We hope that 2008 has been good to you and we hope that 2009 will be even better!!!

Take care and God bless!!

A visit with Santa

Yesterday, our neighborhood association held it's annual Visit with Santa.

Mary and Lauren were the only ones who wanted to go this year. Oh well, Noelle is 15
and Ethan is 12. I guess that it is okay that they think that they are too big to sit on Santa's lap. BOO HOO!!

Mary was a little nervous. I think she was a little concerned that she may not quite be on the good list. She was really whinny and really grouchy last week. She did decide to sit on Santa's lap. He was so patient! I think she feels a little more confident as to which list she is on....He told her she was on the good list. She had been GREAT today!

Lauren had a good visit from Santa. What do you expect? She is a good kid! I am sure that she is on the good list!

As I write this we are now getting the icy rain that we have been warned about! The teachers pumped the kids up today and told them that they may not have school tomorrow, so if that is true we will make a fun Holiday Prep day out of the day off! We will make cookies and Buckeyes and Holiday Crafts (for Mary). I also bought a Gingerbread House....What is WRONG with me???? I thought that I was the modern day Scroudge....am I softning? Shh...don't tell anyone!

Have a great last week before the Blessed Christmas Day!

Lots of Love!

Crossroads Preschool Christmas Program

Holidays are here again!

Here we are again hedging into yet another fun filled, busy Holiday Season!

On Saturday, we took the whole family to WLEX's Holiday Children's Party! The kids had a great time. It was at our local Gatti Town (kinda like a chuckie cheese -but a little cleaner and more things for bigger kiddos). Mary, Lauren and Ethan got to sit on Santa's lap and received a gift! Poor Noelle!!

This upcoming week is busy! We have parent visitation at dance on Tuesday evening. Noelle has her High School Choir concert on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Thursday, Chris and I are going to watch to musical " Movin' out". Finally on Friday, Mary has her preschool Christmas program! I can't wait to see it! This will be our last Christmas preschool program ever! She has been singing her songs ALL of the time. I'm sure that she will put her all into this program. She LIVES to be on stage. In fact, she keeps talking about being a famous singer some day( oh, to be young and think that the entire world is yours)!

We have been shopping, shopping, shopping trying to make a dent on our Christmas Lists of gifts for others! We have a lot of shopping to do and we are trying to stay within a budget!

Hope that the upcoming week is a wonderful week for everyone!

Take care and God Bless! We are sending our love to you!!

The King Singers

Last night, we took a family "field trip" to Danville, KY to Centre College to see the King Singers perform.

I was really thinking that this might not be a good idea because it didn't start until 8:00 and it was about a 45 minute drive from home. Chris really wanted to take the kids and I am so glad that I listened to him instead of that little voice in my head.

The kids enjoyed it! Mary LOVED it! She has been listening to the CD all this afternoon! Who would have guessed that a 4 year old would sit quiet and attentive while a 6 men sang in A~Capella!

Thanks Chris for leading me to another great memory! I love you!

It's raining.....in our kitchen??

Beware.....what you are about to see is an edited version of what our kitchen ceiling really looks like. Proceed with caution at your own risk! These pictures actually look better than what it looks like in person.ENJOY! ;)

Okay, it has been a little over 24 house since I got home and Mary said " mom, why is the counter and the floor ALL WET"? I did and immediate panic. Saw water dripping from the kitchen ceiling and ran straight up stairs to find one of the upstairs toilets filled to the top and running over.

Long story short, Chris was out of town for the afternoon, Lauren was having 5 girls spend the night for her 9th Birthday Bash! So I gathered my thoughts, the phone rang and my angel on the other end, Amy, sent her husband over to help out. In the mean time I called one of our builders guys and he called another and in about 10 minutes time I had 3 great guys helping me. I was so grateful!!

So we have had a huge fan running for about 30 hours... the sound is driving me crazy and Noelle said it was also driving her crazy!! But, it is drying out!

We have about 8 places where the drywall tape is sagging, two holes that need repaired and the whole ceiling needs painted!

The new me is trying to relax and I have once again learned that it could have been a whole lot worse.

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!

We are in such a better place this year than last. One year and one day ago Lauren got a terrible stomach flu the night before her birthday. Mary was two days before that. At midnight Noelle got it, followed by Ethan a couple of hours later and finally Chris got it at the crack of dawn. I was the sole survivor. Lucky me!! Someone needed to be well to care for the sicklings and empty buckets!(ha ha)!

Take care! Love and miss you all or y'all!!!!

I am Thankful!

Well...this has been a challenging week. The kids have been disorganized. Forgetting important things such as turning in homework ( which takes 100 points off a middles school advanced math grade), forgetting to print essays that need to be turned in and printing them five minutes after the usually "leave for school time" ( not to mention he "BUS DRIVER" has an important department head meeting that morning) and not grabbing a 500 point assignment from the printer (at least it was printed this time~but forgotten at home). So needless to say there have been a few "talks" and a few extra trips to schools.

Last night I was being consumed by frustration. I know that it is part of being a parent of 4 children but I was MAD. So this morning our "talk" appeared to have made an impact. Everyone was off on time and so far so good!

I am blessed and I am thankful, I just need to remind my self of our Four Blessings!( plus much more)

I am thankful that I live in a great, beautiful state! I am thankful for my wonderful husband~ who is such a constant source of strength to me. I am thankful for our children and our wonderful families{parents, brothers and sisters}. I am thankful for my sister( Laura you are the best)! I am thankful for my Wonderful Neighbors and Great Friends. I have a lot to be thankful for and I need to always remember to count my blessings. I am going to try to be a girl with the glass that is full!!

God Bless!

Noelle is 15 today!

It is so hard to believe that 15 years ago our first beautiful baby girl was born to us~ Noelle Elizabeth Fedele. She was so tiny a BEAUTIFUL!

God has blessed us with this wonderful little girl who has grown up into a Beautiful young lady! Noelle is beautiful inside and out. She is such a sweet, kind and helpful soul! She is such a joy to us!(On most days...we all were teenagers once or have teenagers of our own so...enough said).

Happy October 27,2008 a very special girl is celebrating today! We miss all of our family at home! We wish that you were here to help Noelle celebrate # 15.

Okay.... I wasn't going to mention this but I can't help it! Guess how old I was when I started dating Chris ( Noelle's dad)?????That's right and very scary to us...I was 15 (and a half)! Wow....my parents must have known what a good, honest honorable guy he was even back then! Ahhh...Noelle this does NOT mean that it will be okay for you to date yet~ I know your not interested but...just in case some time in the next year you are....the answer is NO WAY!!!

Please feel free to add you own wish for Noelle below in the comment section.

For his cake, Mary wanted Chocolate and we went and picked up a famous Missy's Apple Pie!

We had a really nice, quite evening at home!

Two Wheels, Bourbon and Fall Break

We have had an exciting event take place in our house~Mary can now ride a two wheel bike without training wheels. On Sunday, our wonderfully kind neighbor invited the kids over to play and inflated her HUGE water slide for the kids to play on. After the water fun, she and her 5 year old daughter taught Mary how to ride a two wheel bike!

Mary came home SO excited! She rode circles around and around our driveway for about an hour or so(until it got too dark). She has been obsessed morning thru night riding and riding and riding that bike!

Now Bourbon?? Okay....Chris totally has fallen in love with Bourbon (especially..Makers Mark)! He has taken tours of about 4 or 5 Kentucky Distilleries and is fascinated with the history associated with Bourbon and Bourbon making! Well...last night he went to pick up his prescription at Walgreen's and had a little wait so he decided to visit the Liquor Barn! He has been searching for the 17 year Pappy Van Winkle and found it behind the glass counter last night! It is VERY rare. Unfortunately, he did not purchase it because it was a little on the pricey side. Go on..take a guess???????????? Ready~ it is $199.00 a bottle. It's just very RARE so it brings along with it a hefty price tag. He also spotted the triple dipped Makers Mark Political Party Bottles...dipped in red, white and blue wax. It think we might be able to swing this one ($25.00) as a birthday gift for him to start his own Makers Mark Collection. He is after all a Makers Mark Ambassador!
We tease him about his new passion... but it is all in good fun. It has been fun to see him get excited about something that interests him and I don't think that he minds the taste too much either!!

So this is the last school day this week because of Fall Break!! The kids are excited and ready for a few days off. We are heading home to see everyone! We should be back in the New Haven/ Fort Wayne area Thursday early evening! We look forward to playing with our cousins and old friends and seeing our grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles. I am especially looking forward to seeing on little convict(#030207). She is in the process of getting her transfer papers in order for her extradition to the great Commonwealth of Kentucky! She is seeking asylum for being misunderstood and wrongly judged and wrongfully sentenced by the prosecuting attorney. I am prepared to take this convict home and SPOIL her rotten!!! I really wish that I could!

Anyways....Have a great day!

URGENT UPDATE! I've just been informent that convict # 030207's paperwork is in order and has been cleared for extadition!!

Helping Out a Needy, Sick Brother and other Stuff!

Well today was an EVENTFULL day!

First of all...Ethan stayed home from school today and I took him to the doctor early this morning. He has a nasty ear infection and his sinuses are a mess.

He was feeling well enough to work on his "project" that is due tomorrow but has waited until Monday evening to start. He has known about this for a while ...a good month or so but, by Ethan's standards he started earlier than normal.

He took a break about lunch time. Mary must have taken pity on him and decided to "HELP" him out. You can see her black sharpie lines all over Ethan's artwork! I was fixing lunch and turned around and about died when I saw what she did to help him! He was pretty calm giving the assessment of damage. He was upset but said that maybe it was a good thing ~ He thought that maybe he could do better.

Well, it's 9:00p.m. and he is still working on his project. It looks really good and think that it will look even better when it is finished!

Now about Lauren
We went back to her orthopedic doctor today and ...............Drum roll............

She is HEALED and no longer needs the air cast or her crutches!!! YA...HOOOO!!!

She was shocked. It was a pretty quick 7 1/2 weeks. She was a little shy about walking on her left leg but....she is getting more comfortable with every step. She is limping slightly but I am SO PROUD of her. She has been a pure JOY!!! She is a great kid!!

I am so thrilled that tomorrow is the weekend!! I need an date night. I think that we might even go to Keenland this weekend!!

Have a wonderful, Happy and Safe Weekend!

No School for the big kids!

Today the older 3 did not have school. Mary did!

I thought that I would get Mary up and tip toe out of the house not to wake up the other 3 but.... I was wrong. MARY decided to stand in the upstairs loft area and sing her beautiful song~ which woke up all of the sleeping beauties and the beast!HA,HA!

So....I took Mary to school and ALL of the kids had to come along. I think that they really thought that it was cute how much she loves school and they could not wait to take part in this! She looked adorable and went off to her class and told her siblings " Only Daddy and I have to work and make $$ today"! She just cracks me up!

Happy Friday! Here's to a great weekend!

P.S. Next weekend is Homecoming at Henry Clay High School and we are hearing some talk in the house about attending the game and the dance (with girl friend of course)!

Mary.....how does your garden grow?

Mary had another great day at pre-school.

She experienced her 1st fire drill! She said that a man's voice came over the speaker and said "emergency" but there was no man around! Then they had to go and sit on the "curve"(I think she meant curb)!

She was the calender girl and she told me that today was September 24th. I am so impressed with her memory and all of the details that she shares with me regarding school!

Okay....now the Mary how does your garden grow. She and her class went on a nature walk. They made backpacks out of a brown paper sack cut off and a string attached. It is very cute. Then she was able to pick up all sorts of nature. Her most favorite item was a long seed pod that had fallen off of a tree. She could not wait to get home to "plant her Tree"!! She got out the shovel and dug a hole and then placed the seed pod inside and covered it up! Last but not least, she watered her tree with her watering can!

She had a great time!

We will keep a watch for "MARY'S TREE"! We will post some pictures when her tree grows BIG!!

All is Quiet

This has been a really peacful, non-eventfull week.

Noelle, Ethan and Lauren have no school on Friday but, Mary does have school. She thinks it is so neat that she will be at school and the kids will be home. I am so glad that she feels that way, I only hope her LOVE of school will remain for a while and not be destroyed by the other kids opinion on school!

Not much new! Hope that all is well for everyone!

Take Care!

It's the Weekend!

The weather is gorgeous outside and the kids are all inside.

Noelle just returned from volunteering at a Diabetes Walk. She, as a freshman, is required to fulfill 20 hrs. of community service. Noelle and her friend Kayla got up early this morning to help with registration at this event.

Lauren and Mary are playing "House and School". Mary informed us that she is now married to Troy (High School Musical)...ahhhh..... poor Kevin. Looks like Mary has moved on. Lauren is a really good sport. She plays so nice with Mary and is VERY patient with her.

Ethan is bored and keeps wondering around playing his guitar.

Chris and I are going out with some neighbors tonight to one of our favorite places. So this will be fun. Good friends, Good food!!

Hope that everyone has a great and relaxing weekend.

Fallen Tree ~GONE~ YEAH!!!!

Just a tiny update( that we are thrilled about). The top half of the old Black Locust Tree that fell on top of the kids swing set is now GONE! I am so thankful for the wonderful McGee Springs Lawn Service. These guys are the best...and work really hard!

After some inspection, I think that we will be able to save and repair the swing set. Mary REALLY misses being able to use it. In fact, I think it appears structurally safe so I might just go ahead and let her swing on it. Unfortunately there will be NO sliding~ the slide was trashed!

Anyway, It is wonderful to have the backyard cleaned up and ready for more play!

Happy Wednesday!

**Tomorrow is Grandma (North) Burhop's 98 Birthday! Isn't that amazing. She has been blessed with wonderful health but recently, she has hit a bump in the road. She is home once again and beginning the regain her strength . Please keep her in your prayers and wish her a happy 98th birthday!

Guitar Lessons and a "Cookie Date"

Monday means......Guitar lessons for Ethan at Lexington's downtown YMCA and for the lucky lady who gets to accompany Chris....a walk, downtown tour of historic homes and streets or a fountain tour or the best of all ....a cookie date.

Tonight was for lucky lady Mary. She was so tired after a morning at school and playing outside all afternoon by her new favorite play place ~the fallen tree. Anyways, Chris said that she could go along with him and she jumped at the chance.

She loves to go with Chris anywhere...her favorite by far~Starbucks for her "cookie date". She gets to sit at a table in Starbucks with her dad and drink a hot chocolate and eat a cookie. Tonight she got a frosted cookie and she called me and asked if I could see her cookie and then wanted me to describe her cookie to her. I think that she may be on to something....maybe soon we will all be carying a "live"
3D cell phone. Wow....I hope not. I still value my privacy at the end of the phone receiver.

So when they returned home both Ethan and Mary had big smiles on their faces and a Vanilla Latte for me! Ethan's guitar teacher may be selling him an electric guitar. Ethan has been really wanting one for a while now. He is the neighborhood dog sitter and has saved quite a bit to purchase an electric guitar. He loves playing his guitar and has really gotten good over the past 9 months.

And Mary....she was thrilled to have time alone with her dad! She adores him. All of our kids adore him... I adore him! We are blessed to have him.

Happy Monday....Have a great week. We are off to a good start here.

P.S. Tree update.....it is leaving our backyard tomorrow. Hopefully!

.Chris and Jason tried to saw it this afternoon. It is a black locust and it would not cut! Let's hope that the guys have a more powerful saw tomorrow!

Sunday....Wind Damage

We came home from church today and here is what we found. I am SO sad~ The swingset survived the move and rebuild only to be taken out by a big old tree in our backyard.

On the good side, I am thankful that the kids we not outside playing on or near this when it happened! I am also happy that the tree top fell where it did. If it had fallen straight down he would have been headed toward our house.

School Girl

Mary had a full week of Pre-School this week and she LOVED it. I am so shocked by her! She has been the easiest of our 4 children to adapt to school.

She is growing up so fast and Loving life!! She is constantly dancing, singing and dressing up and pretending to be someone else!

So here are a few more pictures of her.

Grandma these are for you!

Mary sends her love!
xoxoxox

Princess Maryweather

I used my 3 hours of free time wisely today and went to my favorite HomeGoods store. I didn't find anything for the home but I did find this gorgeous "Halloween" dress for Mary. She thinks she is a princess from Barbie and the Diamond Castle. Of course this is her new favorite movie right now!

Just wait Aunt Laura, some day all of these dress up dresses will belong to Carly! She will be a girly girl!!

Have a good weekend!

Ahhh.....walking on air!!

Lauren went back to the orthopedic doctor today and had her cast removed. She had another x-ray. It showed that the healing process has begun. The doctor put her in a walking "air cast". This will encourage new bone growth and expedite the healing process. She is to wear this and begin to walk on it. She is in this at least another 4 weeks but it sounds like it might be a little longer than that. She returns to the doctor in a month for another x-ray.

The best news is that yucky orange cast is now gone! She wanted to keep it until it was laying beside her on the table and she started to notice an unpleasant odor!! (that is putting it nicely)!! Wow~ YUK!!

She really wanted to keep Patrick Patterson's autograph so the nurse cut that out for her to take home!

Lauren was scared of the saw that was used to remove it. She had the Sweetest nurse who took it off and Lauren was laughing...it tickled.

So here are the photos to sum up this part of the Monkey Bar Mishap!!

Enjoy!

All done!! She was so happy we got to scrub her leg clean and even put on some Good smelling lotion (bath and body Plumera)!

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Here today...gone tomorrow! ~Hopefully :)

Today is the last day that Lauren will be in her cast! She goes back to the ortho doctor tomorrow and he is going to take the cast off and x-ray her leg to see if it has healed enough for a walking cast! Hopefully, that will be the case!

We are so proud of Lauren! She has really adapted well to being in a cast and she has not complained~ not even once! She has been a really great patient!

So keep her in your prayers!

Hopefully, we will be able to post a new updated photo tomorrow!

****

By the way~ Mary informed me that when she breaks her leg she is getting a purple cast! Let's hope not!!

*Patriotic Mary*

Today was Mary's 3rd day school! She LOVES it!

It was "wear your red, white & blue" day! She learned a lot today! She told me that she learned about presidents and "did I know that they live in a White House?"

She made a cute flag out of red construction paper. Her hand prints,(white paint) where the stripes and her fingerprints were the stars! It was really cute!

We are so thrilled that she is doing so well adjusting to school! She is really a big girl now! (As hard as that is for me to believe)

Hope that everyone else had a great Monday as well!

Love and Miss you all or Ya'll!
Lisa

Sunday Afternoon Jumping.....

There are two girls in our house who adore jumping rope! Mary and Lauren.

In fact recently Lauren had to write about her favorite toy in school. Can you guess what it was???? Maybe her purple motor scooter, NO...her i-pod,NO....her nintendo ds,NO. She said that it was her jump rope. We were so happy to hear this! It's so refreshing to see one of our kids love the simple (cheaper) things in life!

Okay so Mary has been fascinated with us swinging the rope for her. Now she can jump up to 16. And now we are starting the chant...Cinderella, dressed in yella.... and the good old teddy bear, teddy bear! Anyway, yesterday she decided to try jumping on her own.

Well it was not too long before Lauren just HAD to try to jump rope WITH her cast on!

So here are the photos to share!

Enjoy!!

>

Okay.....we also let her ride her scooter!!
